Colin Kaepernick
All them what are upset about what he did can get on their knees and suck my dick! As usual, every fucking jingoistic yahoo has gone apoplectic. From their reaction, you might think he'd tried to join ISIS while raping a baby and blowing up Mount Rushmore.
Morons. Eat an elephant dick and die in a fire.

It shows that for all the whining the right does about 'political correctness run amok', they have their own version of it. Maybe they need a safe space so they aren't triggered by the sight of a man choosing not to stand for the national anthem.

I'm not sure if anyone cares. This controversy seems incredibly forced. And you rise for the National Anthem if you want to, don't even need a reason, fuck the haters.

Re: Colin Kaepernick
Well, as more than one Sports Dude had put it, people would care if he was a starting quarterback. Sure . . . for a season he was . . . then sucked. It would be as if this guy:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u264 ... 74598f.gif
decided to pontificate on Gamergate or something. Who cares?
Which is sad, in a way, because one's relative importance should not impact on whether or not an opinion is rational and sound. Still if St. Tom of Brady, or St. Peyton, or various other "stars" did it, it would gain a lot more attention. They are just not as stupid as Kaepernick is. I write "stupid" because he so badly rationalized his "statement." He is like the "Hands Up Don't Shoot" types who just did not know the facts. Though at least those acted out early. It has been some time. Kaepernick did not do his homework.
Which, irony of ironies, is sort of why he is a back-up now and not a starter.

Re: Colin Kaepernick
Here's all the people who are most upset by this:
http://www.bizpacreview.com/2016/08/28/ ... ove-384388
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/20 ... al-anthem/
Seems he also converted to Islam in the offseason and got engaged to a BLM activist.
Personally, I don't care about it. I'm not going to try and find out who his sponsors are so I can boycott them. Some of these boycott ideas are pretty comical. People talking about boycotting all NFL sponsors. Well good luck with that! If you want to show your displeasure, don't buy tickets to a 49ers game. But I agree with Nyar that this is the other kind of "political correctness". Also don't you dare say anything bad about Christians!

I don't give a shit either but doubt his foresight. He is a celebrity and as such lives and dies by the grace of his fans.
Well, even if he doesn't play he gets 73 million (fucking) dollars. So he can afford to be idealistic.google wrote:Current Contract.
Colin Kaepernick signed a 6 year, $114,000,000 contract with the San Francisco 49ers, including a $12,328,766 signing bonus, $61,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $19,000,000.
I wonder if this constitutes a career-ending injury.Must purchase (after-tax dollars) a disability policy for $20 million if suffers career-ending injury paid to 49ers

Sounds Swiss. :notsure:
Kaepernick was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Heidi Russo, a 19-year-old woman who was single and destitute at the time. His birth father, an African American, was out of the picture before he was born.[1][2][3] Russo placed her son for adoption with Rick and Teresa Kaepernick, a white couple who had two children—son Kyle and daughter Devon—and were looking for a boy after having lost two other sons to heart defects.[1][4] Kaepernick became the youngest of their three children. He lived in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, until age four, and attended grade school in Turlock, California.[5][6]

Re: Colin Kaepernick
So, you all are probably not aware, as liberals tend to be an ignorant lot, but Obama is pushing for a national police force. There is like his whole outline on how to do it on the White House website if you want to take a look.
So anyways, Soros, who is funding BLM, just had a memo leaked which shows he is additionally moving towards a federal police force.
Here, with Obama's eight years of race baiting; race relations being the worst in my lifetime, we have a well funded movement against local police. The obvious solution is to nationalize local police, many already equipped with military equipment and training via Obama. As Obama stated early in his administration, they will need to be as well funded and well supplied as our military, this national police force.

Even the Muhammed Ali analogy is strained because Ali actually went to jail for his protest. Kaepernick otoh may have to endure some booing and maybe lose some sponsors. He already signed his big money contract before he started to suck.

Yup.
He wanted all of the notoriety, but none of the responsibility and risk. He knows he is "cut" this season. Now he can pretend it was for "political/OMFGRACIST!!! reasons"--see his current coach. However, he already gets his guaranteed money either way. San Fran fucked up there, but we are talking California after all. . . .

Re: Colin Kaepernick
Such courage:
--J.D.Quarterback Colin Kaepernick will stand during the national anthem next season, sources told ESPN on Thursday.
Kaepernick no longer wants his method of protest to detract from the positive change he believes has been created, sources told ESPN. He also said the amount of national discussion on social inequality -- as well as support from other athletes nationwide, including NFL and NBA players -- affirmed the message he was trying to deliver.
As a means of protest, he began sitting during the national anthem in the 2016 preseason before taking a knee for the final preseason contest and 16 regular-season games.
Kaepernick will opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers this week and become a free agent next week, sources told ESPN.

Re: Colin Kaepernick
If the idea had been to take a knee from the beginning, I don't think it would have been such a big deal.
Sitting seems more disrespectful than kneeling. People kneel to pray for example.
Anyway, now that he no longer has a team or a guaranteed contract, suddenly he doesn't want to do anything controversial anymore. Curious. Because what team wants to take on a guy who is going to be a PR headache for them? Maybe if he's really good on the field, but not if he's borderline.

Re: Colin Kaepernick
Your link doesn't seem to work, but OK.
Now, turning down a contract offer isn't necessarily to "play up the race card". It could be that he thinks he can get a better offer if he doesn't jump at the first one offered. Apparently Jay Cutler was offered $10 million for one year. We don't know what kind of offer was made to Kaepernick. I'm pretty sure though that teams will want a "baggage discount". But there are teams out there who really need a quarterback.
