Re: Other music
I got shouted at by Mrs. Camel and my neighbours for playing all this stuff too loudly in the middle of the night.
Bloody women, they have no idea...

The following laughable vid will, through its kitshycheesiness, give you AIDS, plague and diabetes. Mostly diabetes. Yet it opens an interesting door: today's instruments are formatted for a particular sound (like wines or tourist traps, catering to "international taste"), which wasn't always the case, and isn't necessarily adapted to the music played.

And don't get me started on tuning…

There's no posting mature "Loli J-Pop" videos in the building!
If you must post "Loli J-Pop" they must be underaged.
No!
Any man who posts "Loli J-Pop" spends a week in the box!

Apparently there's a whole genre of this stuff. People covering popular songs with Mario Paint Composer.

A phrase that's been all over the news today reminded me of this song. It's been set to some new animation.

The good bit starts at about 3:10. Unfortunately the various volume levels aren't correctly balanced. One of the hazards of a live performance.Doctor X wrote:No Carr, just funnin'

Re: Other music
French drinking song from the early XVIIth c. from Gabriel Bataille:

Text:
Translation I found (bland English compared to Bataille's classical form):
Who wishes to rid himself of a migraine
Has only to drink good wine
And lay the table
With cervelas and ham.
Water only rots the lungs,
Taste, taste, taste, taste companion
Empty this glass and we will fill it
The wine liked by this good father,
Who thus makes such a good boy of himself,
Makes us discourse without grammar,
And makes us wise without lessons.
Water only rots …
Lot, drinking in a cavern
Made his daughter's breasts swell,
Showing that a tavern’s syrup
Surpasses that of a doctor's.
Water only rots …
Let’s drink then, to the good times,
To stir our kidneys,
And let the one among us die,
Who will renounce his companion.
Water only rots …
Now you know how my evenings sometimes end…
