"BACK and to the LEFT!"
Though, to be fair, she has slightly more charisma and "vim" than the Grey Lady, which, you must concede, is not really an achievement.
So you have a choice between wet cement and a block of cement.

British journalism at it's best:

A Royal Warrant is a document that permits a company to include the royal coat of arms on products and as a part of their marketing - it works in exchange for supplying goods and services to the royals.

SNP claims it is either more evidence in support of Scottish economic independence or yet a further failure of the "English Parliament" to provide them money for water.

Apparently the following was censored out of respect:
Beeps at the checkout line at a super market?
Soccer (aka football) games.
The following joke: Britain is still mourning the shocking loss of a 96-year-old woman of natural causes.

I like the arrows around the bottom of the crown. These indicate the direction to twist the crown, when screwing it on to the king's head.

Yup.
There's still a couple hundred with Victoria's (Gawd Bless 'er) insignia. About 150 of Kaiser Eddy's. Mostly in Cornwall apparently.

Cornwall was hoping for an invasion from the Krauts to separate them from England. Instead, they were invaded and impregnated by Freedom.

Yes, a sad group of tree worshippers who fail to understand that they did not invent the pasty, and indulge in no-holds-barred inbreeding. If it wasn't for Norfolk it would be the Alabama of England.
Interesting fact. 100s of Cornish men and men were abducted by North African Pirates and sold as slaves. So I want an apology and reparations.

Sacked after 17 38 days as Chancellor.
Still, at least Crazy Kwarteng is not the shortest serving Chancellor ever. That distinction goes to Ian MacLeod who lasted 30 days. Before dying in office.
Jeremy Hunt is the new bod.

Re: The UK thread
I haven't been following UK politics too closely, but I gather that things have not gone as smoothly for the new PM as she had hoped.
She's already had to replace the Chancellor and the new guy has basically scrapped most of her plans (i.e., campaign promises) just to calm the markets.
I'll lead Tories into next election, says embattled Liz Truss
Liz Truss has insisted she will lead the Tories into the next general election, despite U-turns leaving her battling to salvage her authority.
The PM apologised for making mistakes, after the new chancellor Jeremy Hunt junked almost all of her tax-cutting plans to stabilise market turmoil.
She added her month-old premiership "hasn't been perfect," but she had "fixed" mistakes.
And she said it would have been "irresponsible" not to change course.
In an interview with the BBC, she said she was still committed to boosting UK economic growth, but acknowledged it would now take longer to achieve.
"I remain committed to the vision, but we will have to deliver that in a different way," she said.
It comes after a dramatic day at Westminster, after Mr Hunt announced nearly all the tax cuts announced at last month's mini-budget would be scrapped.
The decision has been welcomed by investors, but has left Ms Truss's economic agenda in tatters only weeks into her time in No 10.
She was asked some very pointed questions.
Like, she fired the Chancellor, but the plan he was trying to implement was something they both agreed on. I don't know how many of the ideas in the plan were his ideas and how many were her's, but they came up with it together. He was just the one to implement it. But I guess someone had to "fall on their sword" and it was him.

Re: The UK thread
The Tory establishment and grassroots are in different zones.
The establishment stands for nothing. Except being in power and not wearing a red rosette. The grassroots (who wanted kemi badenoch) have no say at Westminster.
Leads to nonentity like truss performing sub par thatcher tribute acts.

Re: The UK thread
Unsurprisingly, her approval rating has suffered, even among Tories. But they just chose her a few weeks ago. There were alternatives.
U.K.'s Liz Truss has a net approval rating of -61 percent: Poll
When you backtrack on what you promised to do, it should be no surprise. The people who didn't support you to begin with won't be won over, and the people who did will be upset that you didn't follow through on what you promised.

This is already worse than it was for Boris or Theresa at their respective nadirs of popularity. Will Conservatives be comfortable with her as the party leader in the next election? The Liz Truss era is off to quite the disquieting start.
According to a Redfield & Wilton Strategies poll released Monday, Britain's new prime minister has a net approval rating of negative 61 percent, down 13 percentage points from a similar poll last Thursday. Only 9 percent of respondents approve of her overall performance, while 70 percent disapprove.
Truss is underwater even within her own party, with 67 percent of 2019 Conservative voters disapproving of her performance. "Among those who would vote Conservative now, her net approval is -15 percent," R&WS notes.
Meanwhile, Labour Party leader Keir Starmer is seeing a bump in his approval rating, which jumped 3 points from last Thursday to a net positive 8 percent, R&WS reports. Starmer also leads Truss "by 47 points on who would be the better prime minister at this moment — larger than any lead Starmer had held over [former Prime Minister Boris Johnson] before Johnson resigned."

Liz Truss less popular than Prince Andrew as 80% hold ‘unfavourable’ view of PM.
