It's not pure horror, per se, but you might like the series Lore on Amazon. They go into a lot of real-life horror stories and either (they seem to switch) talk about them documentary style or dramatize them. First season had vampires, werewolves and faerie changelings (to name the ones I can remember offhand). I am watching the second season right now and it so far has talked about Burke & Hare and Elizabeth Bathory.

I watched it.

I'm not really a horror fan and rarely watch something from the genre, but this was a great show. Great design, use of horror, death, and general dread.
