Just stumbled across this footage from an April 24, 1934 game between the Yankees and (Philadeplhia) Athletics. What makes it great is it has real sound, no fake bat cracks and canned crowd noise. Includes pre-game warmups and photo-ops, NYC Mayor LaGuardia throwing the (first pitch?) ball from the stands, and at 12:40 Lou Gehrig gets thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double. At 14:18 Babe Ruth apparently hits a single but the camera missed it and only shows him rounding 1st. And apparently no one cared if the crowd stormed the field after games.
Even DoctorX might enjoy this, even if it's the MFYs.

Oh, at 1:28 a photographer asks Babe Ruth to swing the bat, but there's an A's player right to the lefty's left. "How the hell are you gonna swing a bat this close"? Babe asks lol.

I do not know, there was this guy who was alive and maybe even at the last Cubs WS in 1903 according to the hype in 2017.
He was a MFYs fan, though.

One of the great "As God is My Witness, I Thought Turkeys Could Fly" moments in sports promotion history. I remember reading jokes about it as a Wee Spud and having to ask why they did that.
