A repository for useful or interesting stuff, and questions about same.
I'll start with NASA's software catalog:

Not that I really need "crew and life support", but I've started looking into the image processing stuff. Perhaps you'll find something for your own interests.

Free Photoshop in your browser, sorta: https://www.photopea.com/
From a quick test:
Manual: https://www.photopea.com/learn/
If you have privacy concerns, once the page/js is loaded you can disconnect from the Web.
From a quick test:
- very similar UI and shortcuts;
- all the layer stuff;
- only 8 bit images;
- no ads with an adblocker;
- has even Fourier transform to get rid of repeating patterns:

A nice hack I got from Reddit: to watch YT videos, just drag & drop the link on VLC (then you'll have all its features).

Yeah, thanks, but for some reason it doesn't want to work on my laptop (desktop is OK). :x

Dunno if it's worthy, didn't try any out, but perhaps it can interest retro-gamers:

Running a Linux graphic desktop on Windows (command-line stuff is already built-in with the Windows Subsystem for Linux):

This article explains nicely how to do it: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/linux-des ... subsystem/.
Be aware that your Windows firewall (and perhaps your antivirus) will try to block the calls from the WSL to the graphic desktop, so monitor and allow that. (E. g. with Windows 10 Firewall Control.)
