The hilt is ivory (from Asian or African elephants, both were found at the site).4,500 year old quartz crystal dagger with ivory hilt. Found in a Copper Age-era tomb in Valencina de la Concepción, Spain.

That dagger wasn't meant for use. :)
As for obsidian, which is just natural glass, yes, it's sharp. Glass is used to make knives for microtomes.

I recall reading that a surgeon used a knapped blade for a procedure just to see.
