Of course there's nothing to stop some enterprising American from registering the Sussex Royal brand.
Pretty sure it's already registered. They're just not allowed to use it.
(checks)
The actual name "Sussex Royal" has been withdrawn so NO ONE can use it in the UK. Some wag has tried to register it under the EU  . Not sure about you yanks. Y'all get a hard on for getting ripped off and calling yourself Lairds or whatever or buying non-existent titles and mincing about as if means anything. So whatever blows your skirt up.

Re: Meghan and Harry thread
That depends though doesnt it? If your surname is Royal you can use it as a trademark. But I find the use of "Royal dry cleaners" to be a mark of vacuous pretentiousness to be honest. Much like American "Champagne" or....just anything that calls itself cheese over there really.
I wouldn't use Royal Plumbing on general principle

Daily Fail:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/arti ... arkle.html
Prince Harry has dropped his royal surname after leaving Britain for California with wife Meghan Markle.
The Duke of Sussex, 35, is listed as Prince Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex in documents registering new eco-friendly tourism firm Travalyst, which will feature a grading system for users to track their carbon emissions.
Move along. Nothing to see here

Don't care about them. I think "Paris Hilton" and I think of them. Let them get on with their lives and leave me alone and all is good.

Re: Meghan and Harry thread
The picture they're painting is he's a henpecked husband dominated by his domineering wife. Maybe it's even true. But either way it doesn't affect me, so why should I care.
It says she follows a vegan diet "during the week". I suppose that means non-vegan on the weekends?
I doubt a vegan purist would recognize that as true vegan. Probably more of a health fad.

As opposed to being henpecked and dominated by his domineering Mum. Of course, since it is no longer the Middle Ages, he cannot fuck his Mum.Anaxagoras wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 11:15 pm The picture they're painting is he's a henpecked husband dominated by his domineering wife. Unlike . . . all the people who fuck Your M[Get on with it! – Ed.]
Perhaps he can play QB for the Greatest Dynasty in Sports History?

I am sort of getting the impression that she is calling the shots and Harry is just agreeing. I suppose if they are happy but stamping your foot and saying that the hobby of a lifetime is not acceptable?

No, we must believe that bossy, overbearing Meghan forced him to sell them.
Really, it's possible he no longer had a use for them. They're suggesting that she pressured him into selling them, but I don't see any real evidence.

Yes, ridiculous. :x
Seriously, even if he were indifferent, that shows a rather unpleasant dynamic in their relationship.
God, we are talking about Harry and Megan. Shoot me.

Re: Meghan and Harry thread
Getting rid of old stuff does not equal henpecked or unpleasant. Of course you might be right, but assigning a dynamic or characteristic to a relationship based on "teh news " is, well....y'know.
And yes we are talking about H&M. So the news has done its job. Sadly.
Don't understand why that dynamic would be unpleasant to be honest.

Re: Meghan and Harry thread
The reason is the point. Look. If we were married and I said "Jesus Christ, that pair of shoes makes you look like a derelict" you might say "jeez honey, you are right. Out they go".
If, on the other hand, I said "I cannot bear to be near the stench of dead animals for anyone who profits from their demise. Those leather shoes or me. Choose"
There is a world of difference. The latter is bullshit virtue signaling. Much like the NZ government, come to think of it.

Re: Meghan and Harry thread
Or maybe, "I dont use these shoes anymore,I've got no use for then anymore, as there are no p(h)easants on Sunset Boulevard to stamp on. I'm getting rid of them."
Anyway, why is the dynamic unpleasant.

Re: Meghan and Harry thread
I pretty much don't believe anything I read about Meghan and Harry.
But on the gun topic, I got rid of mine when my first son was about two. My wife didn't ask me to, I just did. Plus, she was becoming a real fucking b... bless her b... heart, and I figured that, coupled with other factors swung the risk analysis in wrong direction in keeping one.
Still, I took him to the range for the first time on his thirteenth birthday, as I did all my sons. We'd generally go about four times a year (except son2 who hated it). I'd borrow from friends or rent from the range as needed. They are all well regulated. Well, two of the three anyway.
BTW, same said first son is working on his own personal armory. At last count he had about five. Son three sold his after his second daughter was born. There was a Fender Strat he just had to have, so he sold it.

Re: Meghan and Harry thread
I was thinking it probably has something to do with the new baby and moving to a new house and all. Maybe it's just more convenient for him to borrow someone else's if he goes to the range or hunting. Maybe they - gasp - needed the money?

Well duh. Also, who cares? Why should I concern myself with the mundane details of these people's private lives?

Re: Meghan and Harry thread
The one this that does interest me about the coverage is that almost every story about them I see has a subtle or sometimes overt anti-Meghan subtext to it. Harry is sad because his wife made him move to California and give up his gun collection and drove a wedge between Harry and his family, and so on.
Whether he's actually sad or not, I don't really trust the motives of the press or the sources of the gossip they print. They've been consistently anti-Meghan from the beginning.
