Re: The Sopranos
It's quite good. He is an antihero, which is different from a villain. Villains typically have no redeeming qualities at all, and the only thing the audience is supposed to feel for them is fear and loathing. An antihero is someone who does objectively bad things, but who you are also supposed to like and feel sympathy with.
I'm jealous that you're watching it for the first time with fresh eyes. One of my favorite TV series.

Re: The Sopranos
There was one scene, Tony at dinner with his family as I recollect.
He went into an expletive laden tirade about something. All the family members looks suitably intimidated.
Except this one cute little girl she was sitting there laughing. They must have prepped her, probably Tony himself .. "sweetie .. this is an act, don't be scared etc etc.
Pretty funny. lated a second .

I understand there is/was a spin-off in the works called Newark to be released 9/20 but I can't find anything for it. Presumably Tony's son Anthony all grown up and made. donno.
Have you watched Lilyhammer?

I'd kill for that hair.

Great fun and not really violent. PG at worst. Netflix.Lilyhammer is a Norwegian–American television series starring Steven Van Zandt about a former New York-based gangster named Frank "The Fixer" Tagliano trying to start a new life in isolated Lillehammer, Norway.

Is this what you mean:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Many_Saints_of_Newark
Stars Michael Gandolfini as a young Tony Soprano. It's supposed to be a prequel to The Sopranos.
He's got some big shoes to fill. Wonder if he can pull it off.
