VPNs

Post by ed »

I understand the concept of a vpn, at least I think I do. It, in effect routs your traffic thru some machine somewhere that is not your home thus confounding people who want to know what you are doing

Now, I installed a vpn on my browser, somethnig called 1clickvpn, and if I do a search for my IP address it satifyingly puts me in Bosnia or whereever.

Thing is that if one is using an application not thru the browser, it appears that the vpn does not work. Is that so? Why the fuck not?

What is a VPN that I should use?

Pay-to-use VPNs are better than free VPNs. Antivirus programs such as Avast offer VPNs as part of the paid service.

Otherwise you can use Brave and open a private window with TOR.

But if you are on the high seas (nudge nudge) you are necessarily away from your browser, no?
