I collected old furniture a while back. This is just a piece I came across that interested me. It is a panel that might have been set in a coffer (chest) or other piece of furniture or even in paneling in a room I suppose. It is 26" x 8" or thereabouts.
Grain looks sorta oakish. Could be that or walnut. Definitely European origin.
Dunno ... maybe 16th c. or later?
When will c14 dating be available to the masses?
