I see a lot of requests for and offers of prayer.
Why? I don't get the logic.
If something bad happens then god allows it to happen, no? Isn't praying for succor blasphemy?
If god is omniscient/omnipotent then doesn't he know you are going to pray? Why do it?
The whole concept strikes me as being fraught with inconsistency.
Thoughts?

They just want to know how many people are on their team. I agree with your comments and often wonder similarly. Their gods don’t hold up to scrutiny, but neither does complaint about the tuck rule.🤷♂️

Thoughts? OK, you asked for it. :Ped wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 4:08 pm I see a lot of requests for and offers of prayer.

Remove the requirement that God be omniscient/omnipotent and the logical problem goes away.
The claim that God is omniscient/omnipotent is a self-refuting claim.
Just like when someone says, "All truth is relative". It's a self-refuting statement. A more common form is, "Everything I say is a lie."
So it's entirely understandable to "not get the logic", because there is none there. But you already knew that.
