Main problem with Pakistan is not that they hold irrational religious beliefs, but that they have nukes. That needs to be stopped before the stupid idiots use them on someone, presumably the Indians. We need those fucks to continue to take our tech support calls!

If I recall the article I read correctly. The moon being tidally locked, the near side was facing the mostly molten Earth. The radiant heat and gravitational effects resulted in the maria. The moon was much closer then. It's still moving away at 4 cm per year. ** Ed for ed 1.5748 in.**

I looked it up after the tirade from Suzi and there appear to be several theories about why things with the Moon are the way they are. I'm still leaning toward impact events as a reason for the Maria, but who really knows?
