Re: Oh yeah ... a pimp luger
The auction house is evidentially a small one and when I asked about shipping they said, with some asperity I might add, that "they sold over 2000 lots and they'll be shipping my pistol in two weeks or so".
!!!!
2000. My.
Pain in the ass but what is one to do. These are the trials associated with Pimp Lugers.

Actually Deutschland uber alles.
Shot it ... worked flawlessly, amazingly.
If my fans demand it I may do a video.

Interesting. The entire upper part of the gun is held in place by small pin which in turn is held in place by a little tiny spring. The spring was missing from this gun. You can see a plate flying off to the side. When that happened the entire barrel assembly slid forward and prevented further firing.
Got a new spring thingy on order.

Incidentally, I was overrun by a tribe of crazed Zulu's after the video ended.

Why didn't you just wrap your lizard's feet in duct tape and walk around a bit?

The rule is that it will be found 4 seconds after I cannot return the new ones.

Got it fixed.

If my math is right the spring should be .005 under the diameter of the hole. Then the springie bulge part will extend a bit above and engage the damn barrel lock pin.
Thing is that .005 is a reasonable tolerance and tolerances stack (like federal sentences). So the hole might be 7mm-.005 and the spring might be 1.5 +.005 and you might just have the spring occluding the hole. Unlike wood, steel don't give.
Anyway, had to file the sucker and now all is well.
For a otherwise elegant design this seems very kludgey. There is a similar imponderable on an AR. It makes one wonder what happened when the design was finalized. Did a diversity hire contribute the lunacy and everyone else was too intimidated to point out that it was stupid? Who knows.

Re: Oh yeah ... a pimp luger
Are you suggesting that it is emotionally fraught? That it cannot handle firing without a Karen-like breakdown?
No. My weapons are more stable than that. But thank you for your concern.
