You don't need to be thin-skinned to leave a forum - you can just become bored with it, or think that most posters are no longer interested in the topic the forum was supposed to be about. If you're posting in, say, a gardening forum, and the majority of the posts are about politics or sport, then you can see why you may decide to spend your time elsewhere.

I've left a few forums from just boredom, and another one because of inconsistent and bad moderation - something which, thankfully, doesn't happen here.

I don’t ever actually leave, I just stop reading. Every few years I go back to check to see if anything’s changed. Usually the place is half dead or worse a bunch of zombies stumbling around eating the few brains that are still left
