Three things:

1/ Only an England fan would go outside in Qatar, in metal helmets, when the temperature is 42c
2/ England did not use the cross of St George as a banner during the 3rd crusade. We hadn't paid the Genoans for its use at that point.
3/ The majority of Crusader Soldiers wore the colors of their Noblemen. Not the King .
4/ You are wearing the colors of the FRENCH kings contingent. You dipshits. Richard's soldiers wore a white Xian cross on a Red background.
5/ Twats.

You have to feel sorry for them, because of the booze ban they can't even get legless.

I've always got a second one. Have you noticed? Sometimes if the audience reaction warrants it I'll do a third.

But never a fourth. That's too much. You've lost them then.

Well you can get "a drink" at totally non-extortionate "fan zones" sound the stadiums. About $15 for 330ml of Budweiser. Which, of course, means fans have to spend around 450 bucks to get tipsy.

Which, actually, is less than beer in NHL stadiums in Freedom!

No joke. Just heard two beers for $37.

Even with my abacus I see that is more than $15 twice.

Not funny.

No

Fales 0 - Iran 2 Final.

Amusing incident in the 2nd half where Welsh goalkeeper tried to decapitate the Iranian forward a la Schumacher/Battiston in 1982.

Mind you, I expect nothing else from these people.

England 0 - OOSA 0 Final

Tedious game to watch. OOSA impressively organised against an England team that had clearly had zero interest in taking any risk as a draw suited.

England pretty much though the group stage. OOSA need to best Iran to advance.

Sure. It's all about management of your group/situation. The England coach is an over-cautious pragmatist (which has bitten him in the ass before) and they would have played pretty much the same way if *anyone* was their opponent from that group. They did exactly the same thing in the Euro tournament in the same situation against Scotland. If you win your first game and results go your way it's possible to manage the tournament group that you are in. In England's situation a draw was just as good as a win in order to qualify from the group which is the absolute priority. With Wales getting gubbed, Coach knew that a draw would be good enough to leave Wales needing to beat England by 4 clear goals, Won't happen. So he didn't have to "go for it", didn't commit players up front in open play, didn't press the opposition when they had possession and set-up to make sure England didn't lose. Job done. Tedious to watch but smart tournament play with the added luxury of protecting player's energy levels. It's a long tournament.

It's also why I'm not a fan of group games not being played simultaneously because it allows for this nonsense. Teams playing second have an advantage.

As organised and technically good as OOSA's players were, with respect, they were pretty ineffective against a midfield and defence that play club football at the highest level. Pulisic aside, not much. That being said, OOSA could have, and should have scored. Missed a sitter. You would have seen a different game after that.

England prevails!

BWAAAHAHAHA 3 v Leeeeeeavingoooooonajetplannnnne 0

Two things. Mr Interesting switched Rashford from left to right wing and Foden vice versa and Wales were done. Also the ineffective Gareth Bale for Wales went off at half time and to be honest, the Welsh visibly deflated. Scorers? Rashford 2 and Foden 1. Smart move Mr Southgate. Smart move.

OOSA 1 v Nationofsoontobedeadpitchinvader 0

Gratz OOSA. Nothing more than expected. What did I tell you about Christian Pulisic?

======

Round of 16. Shit gets serious.

Not you, Wales v Senegal, current African cup of nations holders.
OOSA V Clogs

Good luck with that one, yankee.

Mad! Anyone watching Japan V Spain and Costa Rica v Germany tonight might get an inkling of why soccer is such an rollercoaster for fans. Edge of your seat stuff.

In one 20 minute period, at one point or another, all 4 teams in the group had qualified for the knockout stages and all were being knocked out.

Second half. Japan. Outstanding. Not sure about that second goal though.

Who cares? Nazis out.

Ghana is the underdog against Uruguay in the match that starts in 15 minutes:

"The match from Al Janoub Stadium in Al-Wakrah, Qatar, will kick off at 10 a.m. ET. Caesars Sportsbook lists Uruguay as the -150 favorites (risk $150 to win $100) on the money line in the latest Ghana vs. Uruguay odds. Ghana are the +400 underdogs, a draw is priced at +280 and the over/under for total "goals is set at 2.5.

It was an entertaining game to be honest. Best part was Haji Wright completely fucking up a side flick and scoring the flukiest goal in WC history.

True Freedom 3 v Senegal 0

All in all, bit of a Breeze.

Jude Bellingham. Kid's Good.

France, 3 - 1 conquerors of Poland, await next Saturday. The two most impressive teams in the tournament so far. The thought of Kylian Mbappé up against Harry "Lurch" Maguire is already giving me the shits.
