Final Table underway.... I'm listening to the webcast at cardplayer.com... and I'm whisky drunk, just like last year when my boy won the whole deal... this year... who are these geeks?

An aussie (Joseph Hachem), a Irishman (Andrew Black), and a Swede (Daniel Bergsdorf) and five damn yankees...

I'm rootin for the forriners.... 'specially the Aussie 'cause I have a "thing" for AUP... :shock:

just kidding... plus I have 2 tourneys going on UB.... I'll let you know...

But listening to Phil Helmuth while drunk.... Priceless...

It appears Andrew Black spent 5 years in a monestary (sp?) after taking a bad beat from Stu Unger... then has been tearing up the UK...

I'm sold... plus I'm ripping up both the internet tourneys... close to the money in the first...

Black just took a huge pot from the Aussie before the break....

44 players left out of 925 in one tourney... 16th place

Five years in a Buddhist monastery that is.... for the Irishman...

I left and went to Wal-Mart... Five left and Black is the huge chip leader....

I'm here for the duration.... then maybe see some of the british open.... booze and caffeine.... and the 1$ SnGs on UltimateBet... Cause I roll like that....

Plus I finished 24th in the first tournament.... so I'm up five whole bucks...

The best part about the internet webcast is Phil Helmuth... getting physically ill whenever someone sucks out... Like it is an affront to all that is decent that luck is a function of poker...

Jesus is on there now, so we have a weird combo of perhaps the most mellow and philosophical former champ along with very likely the most neurotic.... Weird stuff in the wee hours... this may last a while...

Black took a vicious beat a few minutes ago.... Made Helmuth suicidal... anyone's tournament at this point... like the poker challenge...

Another beat for Black & he's gone... maybe back to the monastery... I think Helmuth is going to cry... beats offend him so...

Of course, $1.75 million for 5th won't hurt him much....

lost a pot where he was a 3.5-1 favorite for 19 million...

then one where he was a 13-10 favorite for 17 million....

to the same guy....

I tuned in about 9 a.m. expecting to see the results, but they're still at it. I got the live broadcast just in time to hear Barch go out, so down to 2. Mrs. Shemp hopes this ends soon so I can go mow the lawn.

I think the GNP of Austraila just doubled.... Joseph Hachem wins after an awful all in call by that other guy, who would be lucky to crack the final table of the poker challenge....

I have to say listening to Phil Helmuth and the other cameos for 14 straight hours is an experience of unintentional comedy that you just can't put a price on...

Here is the final hand, courtesy of cardplayer.com:

Hand 232 - Steve Dannenmann has the button, he raises to $700,000, and Hachem calls. The flop comes 6h-5d-4d, Hachem checks, Dannenmann bets $700,000, Hachem raises to $1,700,000, and Dannenmann calls. The turn card is the As, Hachem bets $2,000,000, and Dannenmann slowly raises to $5,000,000, Hachem reraises all in, and Dannenmann immediately calls. Hachem shows 7c-3s (seven-high straight), while Dannenman has Ad-3c (top pair). Dannenmann needs to catch a seven on the river to chop the pot with equal straights.

The entire crowd is on their feet as the river card comes. There are only three cards that can keep Hachem from becoming champion.

The river card is the 4c! Joseph Hachem has just become the 2005 World Series of Poker champion!
