Um, Xouper, you do know you had a huge part in creating the fire in the first place. It was you who chose to goad someone over and over and over. You didn't have to goad them like that, but you did. You get a large chunk of the credit.xouper wrote:And we all know who created the fire in the first place for their own gratification. You are berating us for not making lots 'n' lots of posts/threads about critical thinking on cherry picked bits of the forum, but then berate us for thinking critically about the JREF in lots 'n' lots of posts/threads in Banter.
Well, I guess that makes you a clueless fuckwit then.

Charley, I forgot . . . you are needed in make-up to dress up as a Dried Up Old Lady so you may stir shit in two places to curry favor only to earn the disrespect and distrust of two places.
Some would say you are type-cast for the roll . . . unless you can think of someone else.
Now . . . let me see . . . is there someone else who fits the roll?

You can take that up with Skeeve if you like. S/he can take care of hirself.Doctor X wrote:Charley, I forgot . . . you are needed in make-up to dress up as a Dried Up Old Lady so you may stir shit in two places to curry favor only to earn the disrespect and distrust of two places.

But you'll have to take it up with Skeeve, as Skeeve the person is now somewhere in Pennsylvania. Well, or at least I think so. S/he could be on vacation at the minute, as s/he hasn't shown up on the mud in a week.

Sorry, jj, but the fire that Mr. Thing was talking about was burning quite well before I came back to the forum to pour some oil on it. I didn't start that particular fire, so I don't see how you can say I deserve a large chunk of the credit. In fact I had nothing at all to do with the new rule or any of the suspensions. So just how did I have a huge part in creating that fire when I wasn't even here to participate until after the fact?jj wrote:Um, Xouper, you do know you had a huge part in creating the fire in the first place.xouper wrote:And we all know who created the fire in the first place for their own gratification. Ummm, I believe the proper spelling is "Winston" not "Winson". As well, I'm positive it was "Ghengis Pwn" not "Ghengis Pawn".Suddenly wrote:Xouper didn't start the fire

Oh, I agree, you didn't instigate it. You just took the most obstinate, aggressive anti-everything stand, attacked everything in your path no-holds-barred,and did your best to rip ass from teakettle.xouper wrote:Sorry, jj, but the fire that Mr. Thing was talking about was burning quite well before I came back to the forum to pour some oil on it. P.S. And some claim there is "little" critical thinking on this board.
P.P.S. A commetator on the situation THERE remarked to the irony of its self-reference as a board for rational thinking thusly:
P.P.P.S. Dipshit. No one said it was a "high I.Q combined with superior deductive reasoning" board

Re: I registered on JREF with a false name
I see you too have grasped the uses of hyperbole.xouper: Just recently (I won't say when), I successfully registered as a new member on the JREF forum and gave a false name.
jj: Anything to cause trouble, eh?
The Thing: Nothing unexpected, though? No posts at SC since 23 April, then suddenly shows up and decides to pour oil on the fire for his own self-gratification.
xouper: And we all know who created the fire in the first place for their own gratification. If the JREF forum management wants to set themselves on fire, I'm certainly willing to help now and then. It's not like I'm the one who started this mess, ya know.
jj: Um, Xouper, you do know you had a huge part in creating the fire in the first place. It was you who chose to goad someone over and over and over. You didn't have to goad them like that, but you did. You get a large chunk of the credit.

jj: Oh, I agree, you didn't instigate it. You just took the most obstinate, aggressive anti-everything stand, attacked everything in your path no-holds-barred,and did your best to rip ass from teakettle.
I take that as a retraction of your original claim that I had a huge part in creating it.jj: You didn't start it, but you've tried several times to finish it.
The point is, if the JREF forum were better run, there would be far less to criticize. Certain people have defended JREF forum management by observing that they are not professionals at running a forum. And I say exactly, they are rank amateurs and the problems they create for themselves speaks for itself to that fact.
I am deeply amused by those who defend such mediocrity by attacking the critics. Seems people like Skeptica are not the only ones with emotional attachments to the JREF forum.

Oh, I can understand the emotional attachment. People spend a lot of time reading, writing, socializing. Then things change.
This situation has a greater potential for emotional attachment since it involves subjects people feel very strongly about, AND it provided the opportunity to contribute in ways beyond simply "reading and writing."
