2006 Poker Challenge

One table this time. Up to 22 players in honor of the old IRC single table tourneys.

Modified world series format just to make the math hard and piss me off. Plus that is what the old IRC tournaments used... I'm feeling nostalgic.

Start with 10,000 chips. Smallest chip is a T25 chip, so all bets must be divisible by that number.

Blind structure:

25-50
50-100
75-150
100-200
100-200 25
150-300 25
200-400 50
300-600 75

(Round off to 100's... all bets now in T100 units)

400-800 100
600-1200 100
800-1600 200
1000 -2000 200
1500 - 3000 400

(round to 500's)
2000-4000 500
3000-6000 1000
4000-8000 1500
(round to 1000s)

5000 -10000 1000

Further rounds as deemed necessary by director. I seriously doubt we get this far.

Rounds are X hands long, X being the number of players remaining, or 10, whichever is larger.

If someone else wants the wonderful experience of dealing let me know so I can play the silly thing. I still can be available to consult with problems unless someone is paranoid that I'll be biased. In that case Suddenly would be available. He hates me.

I figure it will start Monday after the Super Bowl, with late registration until the 100-200 25 level.

The dealer (probably me but I hope not) PMs you your cards. I use a deck and write down the individual hands and try not to fuck it up.

The betting is done in a thread. "Fold," "Raise 400," etc.

Important to wait one's turn, and to not post other than making moves. Perfectly OK to insult/taunt/compliment others while posting your action though...

The cards and pot amount are posted to the thread after each betting round, as are the community cards.

I'd suggest reviewing one of the past game threads to see how it works. It is pretty easy once you try it for a while.

We have a dealer, which I think is swell, man, but...

I know he is Swellman. He has offered to deal the tournament. After it starts I will (outside of PMs) offer advice as to possible rule problems, but his decision would be final and he is to feel free to tell me to jam it.

So I'm in.
